Parent Feedback

“I'm really pleased we found Alima (which, surprisingly I did via instagram).
Her lessons and courses are well planned and communicated, which gave me confidence in advance of her teaching and the learning outcomes.
Alima builds a lovely rapport with her students, and has helped build my daughter's confidence in contributing answers and too discussion.

My daughter first tried the free vocabulary booster sessions, which were valuable in both learning new words, and getting a sense of where to focus. She then did the 6 week English course, which has helped develop and strengthen my daughter's English skills.

I would gladly recommend Alima. I find her warm and approachable, creating a positive learning environment, combined with well planned lessons to build and strengthen English skills.”

“Alima is a first class teacher and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
She connected with my daughter immediately and made the lessons both fun and impactful with her intuitive teaching style and creative materials and activities. She also provided structured and clear feedback on progress and areas of focus which was really helpful. My daughter absolutely loves her and looked forward to every lesson which I think really says it all.

Thank you so much.”

FAQ

  • Do I need to attend with my child?

You may need to help your child join the Zoom session at the beginning. Once they are settled, students work independently, helping them build confidence and enjoy the learning experience.

  • Will resources be provided for the lessons?

Yes. A printable resource pack is provided in advance of each session so parents can print it for their child to use during the lesson. These resources are designed to support active participation and help children engage fully with the teaching. These are uploaded under each section (lesson).

  • Is written feedback included? How will my child's work be marked?

Yes, written feedback is included! Once your child has completed their task, they can upload a photo of their work and upload as an assignment to the Thinkific platform (I will show children how to do this in the first session). Your child's work will be marked and resent back to you with written feedback.

  • What happens if my child misses a session?

If your child is unable to attend a live session, a recording will be available on this platform, so they can catch up in their own time. This means they won’t miss out on the learning.

  • What age or level is this club suitable for?

The 11+ Creative Writing Workshop is ideal for children preparing for the 11+, typically in Years 4 & 5. The sessions are carefully structured to support a range of abilities, helping children build confidence as well as challenge stronger learners.

  • How long are the sessions and what is the weekly commitment?

Each live session lasts 1 hour. Some of the session time will include time for children to complete work independently.
